It's All About Arts Julie Jackson Flynn is a Guest Recruiter and she served as Associate Producer and Guest Co-Host for two years for BNN TV 9 "Its All About Arts." She brings 15+ years of experience interviewing celebrities from the interior design and fashion worlds and 4 years in public relations. Most recently she served as a public relations specialist at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass., where she promoted the college to local and national news media and contributed to the bi-monthly campus newsletter. Previously, Ms. Flynn was a senior account executive at Cone, Inc. and an account executive with Mullen in Wenham. While at Mullen, she worked on the L.L. Home, L.L. Kids, Malden Mills, Osram Sylvania, and Dakini (fashion) accounts. Since 1993 Flynn has been a freelance writer for The Boston Globe, Design Times, the Boston Herald, Boston magazine, The Improper Bostonian, and the Beacon Hill Times. As features editor for Design Times, Flynn has interviewed some of the worlds most glamorous interior and fashion designers. In 1993 she interviewed the late Sister Parish, who decorated the White House during the Kennedy Administration, and her partner Albert Hadley. After interviewing Parish & Hadley she went on to interview Greg Jordan, Jeffrey Bilhuber, and Kitty Hawks, daughter of the late socialite Slim Keith and the late film producer Howard Hawks. Each interview led to others-- Richard Keith Langham, one of Jackie Kennedy Onassiss decorators, D.C. designer Mary Douglas Drysdale, and the eloquent Mark Hampton. Jacksons interviews with Chessy Rayner and Mica Ertegun of MAC IIs paved the way to her meeting with their client Bill Blass. It was at Bill Blasss Seventh on Sixth fashion show where Julie met Ivana Trump, who talked to Jackson about her work at the Park Plaza and Trump Tower. Other favorite interviews include Calvin Klein and Joanna Poitier, actor Sidney Poitiers wife, whom she met at their home on Central Park West. Her passion for writing started young. As a teenager, Flynn s interview with medical thriller author/ophthalmologist Robin Cook was published in the Salem Evening News and she had a column in the Lynn Daily Evening Item. Since graduating from Bates with a B.A. in English, Julie wrote for the Bates Alumni Magazine for eight years and Marblehead Magazine for three years. Today, as guest recruiter, Jackson will continue to identify key talent for "Its All About Arts" and looks forward to being involved in the world of the arts. |
